Mike S. Lee, Vice President, Technology Architecture & Planning for FOX Entertainment Group, will deliver a special session: Green IT: How Fox IT is Supporting NewsCorp’s Goal of Being Carbon Neutral by 2010 at Green West on Tuesday, May 20 at 1:15 p.m.
Fox Entertainment Group is a leading Media and Entertainment corporation with a global employee base and continuously expanding business needs. Based upon Fox IT’s own experiences, this session will teach participants how to define, get executive buy-in and execute a Green IT program. The first portion of the session will cover the energy framework that is used to quantify and prioritize IT initiatives that have a positive effect on carbon emissions/energy avoidance (“green IT solutions”). The second portion will cover the IT energy program that measures and reports on the green IT solutions. To conclude the session, Lee will wrap up with specific prioritized green solutions that cover the data center, desktop, office and mobile worker. Participants will walk away with a practical step by step roadmap of how to enable IT to support their company’s green initiatives.
Lee is the Vice President of Technology Architecture & Planning for FOX Entertainment Group, where he is responsible for technology strategy, internal technology consulting, standards management and architecture operations. In addition to his day job, he is also the IT liaison for News Corporation’s CoolChange Initiative, which has the published goal of making News Corporation carbon neutral by 2010. Lee’s previous lives included head of enterprise application architecture for Warner Bros., technology evangelist for Netscape, and head of technology for various Internet/software companies. Lee has spoken globally on Internet technologies at major conferences across the United States and Europe including: Comdex Enterprise, DevCon, Business Objects and Object World.
